But he's a narcissist, no doubt. Totally self-centered, and without empathy. He is childlike when it comes to other people's feelings because without empathy, a person can recognize that other people have feelings but can't really understand them or respond to them in any meaningful way.

I totally get the other actor's beefs against Shatner. That's another thing that narcissists are good at - never taking responsibility and always making it look like their accusers are the crazy ones. He's even accused George Takei of having a mental illness, which is utter nonsense but is also one of tools narcissists keep handy in their bag of tricks.

On a lighter note, good call on him reaching toward Nimoy's teeth in response. That is the biggest TELL I've ever seen from Shatner.Clint the Cool Guyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04221587679862250468noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1249569588037368037.post-86633068924585550692017-03-20T16:36:18.870+01:002017-03-20T16:36:18.870+01:00This comment has been removed by the author.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1249569588037368037.post-20213151065527691162016-04-05T10:55:12.856+02:002016-04-05T10:55:12.856+02:00false hair, false teethfalse hair, false teeththejazzgorillahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08382131684004825763noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1249569588037368037.post-89097372724328021182011-05-17T20:04:27.735+02:002011-05-17T20:04:27.735+02:00I'm surprised no one has remarked on the extre...I'm surprised no one has remarked on the extremely obvious gesture Shatner makes in response to Nimoy reaching for his hair: in return, Shats playfully reaches for Nimoy's false teeth. He was the star, you weren't - get over it! No one wanted the action to stop so Mr Sulu could talk in a deep voice for a few more minutes, or Mr Scott to moan a bit more about the engines. So please put them in their place by showing THEIR rug history. Mr Chekhov clearly has a wig. Doohan's, Takei's and even Nimoy's hair looked much thinner in the 60s than it did in the 70s and later (and just about all the men seem to be wearing rugs when they returned for the Star Trek movies). So let's challenege their follicles!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1249569588037368037.post-56859866045590624372009-09-07T13:04:46.406+02:002009-09-07T13:04:46.406+02:00Yeah, that is an interesting story and Shatner cer...Yeah, that is an interesting story and Shatner certainly could be very insensitive. But to be fair, it is really unheard of in showbusiness for an editor to be publicly critical of an actor at a wrap-party like that. The inference is that they were trying to humiliate him in public. Maybe in private, in a closed, comfortable setting, such concerns could be discussed. I think that most editors would likely have been fired for that kind of behavior and most actors would probably flip out the way Shatner did. -STFootstephttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16813779225597646854noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1249569588037368037.post-85711396320757865982009-09-07T01:11:55.362+02:002009-09-07T01:11:55.362+02:00One of the most pointed anecdotes about Shatner wa...One of the most pointed anecdotes about Shatner was one that Justman or Solow told about a film editor on the set of Star Trek who mentioned to Shat that the actor was telegraphing his lines, and as an editor, it wasn't making his job any easier. Shatner became enraged and physically went after the guy with both parties having to be held back. That editor never worked again on the Star Trek set.

Almost all the people involved with the show tell the same kinds of stories and Shatner certainly doesn't come across as a team player back then. He was deadly serious about becoming recognized as a major star. His saving grace was the strength of his individual contribution to the show. And his toupee.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1249569588037368037.post-57781913482871659142009-09-07T00:48:19.950+02:002009-09-07T00:48:19.950+02:00Another hint- At the end of the episode Requiem fo...Another hint- At the end of the episode Requiem for Methuselah Shatner's hairpiece can clearly be seen as he leans forward on his desk:
http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/5670/vlcsnap6964121.png
Looks like one piece to me but who knows?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
