We're not sure what the above image is from (any ideas?), but it must certainly be placed into that category of Bill Shatner images labeled "unintended irony". The nose, the mouth - there's a distinct similarity between Bill Shatner and his bald counterpart. Is it a kind of bald
Mr Hyde to Bill Shatner's Dr Jekyll? The scar on the head - is it a hair transplant gone awry or the result of a bad toupbotomy? Is this Bill Shatner's way of finally letting us see him without a toupee?
You'd think that Bill Shatner would avoid having images like these taken - and looking at them, you can't help but feel that he's messing with our minds, just a little...
This post is pretty scary
ReplyDeleteOk Shat Toup, this one is really a stretch. Let's get back to the serious study of toupology!
ReplyDeleteSorry folks, August is silly season! The institute is relatively quiet this time of year, as many key staff take a brief break. Rest assured, though, our touposcopes remain manned at all times! -ST
ReplyDeleteHere's something to work on - from the 'How bald was Shatner' department.
ReplyDeleteI was watching Star Trek: TMP the other night, and in the scene where Kirk tells Decker he's being replaced as Captain of the Enterprise, there's a moment where Shatner bows his head. I swear you could see right through his wig-like toupee and see his bald head.
Here's another one to look at from TOS - in part 1 of The Menagerie when Kirk is in the shuttlecraft pursuing the Enterprise, there's a picture of the back of his head where there is an obvious gap in the toupee.

ReplyDeleteDenny Crane does his best George Patton imitation.
To answer the question of where the image is from: Check out the top right of the "Splat Attack" poster in the previous post!
