Poll result and a roundup of toupee news.
Our most recent poll sought to gauge your views on the question of how seemingly subtle, self-deprecating hair jokes make their way into the Bill Shatner sitcom $#*! My Dad Says. Only 7% thought that the writers, much to Bill Shatner's surprise, ask if they can include them; 14% thought that all sides, including Bill Shatner, agree to put them in to add some much-needed spice to the show; 19% thought that Bill Shatner was the one asking for them, while a quarter of voters thought that the hair jokes in the show had nothing to do with Bill Shatner's hair. 33%, the largest share, thought that the writers of $#*! My Dad Says just threw them in the script and hoped that Bill Shatner wouldn't notice.
Thanks, as always, for voting!
A quick roundup of some of the latest Bill Shatner toupee news:
A sportswriter reporting on a basketball game in the US between the Portland Blazers and Cleveland Cavaliers noted that "The Blazers, meanwhile, feasted on a Cavaliers defense that overcompensated more than William Shatner's toupee." A simple but effective analogy!
Meanwhile, several media reports have noted that the young Canadian pop star Justin Bieber has followed in William Shatner's shoes by selling a piece of himself. Bieber raised more than $40,000 for a dog charity when he put up some of his shorn locks for sale on eBay. The hair was purchased by Goldenpalace.com, the same on-line casino that in 2005 paid $25,000 for Bill Shatner's kidney stone - the actor then donated the cash to a housing charity.
Naturally, Bieber couldn't donate a kidney stone because he is far too young to have one, while Bill Shatner couldn't donate a lock of his hair because he doesn't have any to spare! But, these sales raise an obvious question: how much could Bill Shatner raise for charity by selling one of his old toupees? Possibly millions, we think!

Yargh! That's one gnarly kidney stone!
ReplyDeleteWhat if Bill Shatner was asking for the hair jokes to confuse us?!
ReplyDeletePerhaps he thinks if hair-jokes are made in the show, the audience would be like
"Oh, the Rumors about Shatner's toupee-use, hair-replacement-whatever cannot be true; if jokes about the hair are made, his hair must be real, who could be so cheeky to deal with sth. like this, if his own hair isnt' real!"
Perhaps this was the case - who could be so bold - or bald - to do so...Nobody than Shatner!
...or; who could be so cheeky to pretend he has real hair; I mean!
ReplyDeletebtw, what is Justin Bieber hiding under his fringe?!? another balding Canadian?!He cut his hair a while ago, to sell it, didn't he?
I think Bieber won't be fame in a couple of years, I'd like to see his forehead in about 15 years!

Shatner is hosting an awards show. Is it just me, or does that toupee look like it's been applied a bit too high?
