There is a blog out there called "lookathisbutt" entirely dedicated to another part of Bill Shatner's body - you guessed it - his butt! Not being that way inclined, we have to admit that Bill Shatner's butt isn't of that much interest to us. However, the long-running blog is actually full of materials - from memorabilia to pictures - that will be of interest to Bill Shatner fans of all persuasions. The very nice ladies that run it also do a Shatner-related podcast every now and then and one of their more recent entries devoted a considerable amount of time to analyzing our blog and covering the subject of Bill Shatner's toupee in general beginning at about 14:50, so enjoy:

It's difficult for me to understand how anyone could be interested in Shatner's butt -- unless he's hiding some toupees in there
ReplyDeleteThe imagery conjured by that thought is a little gross...:)

This blog is getting bigger every day!! Thanks to Bill and his tribbl.. ops, toupee!
ReplyDeleteI have just watched the above Star Trek episode and I must say, I never noticed his butt.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to believe that people of any persuasion could notice Bill's butt above the sheer awesomeness of some of the work of art atop his crown, not only in this episode but also throughout the entire Star Trek TOS. At first glance, the picture above is probably quite disturbing for most males of a hetrosexual persuasion many of whom instinctively flinch at extreme passionate man to man hugging. However, once the initial discomfort is overcome (in a similar way to Spock convincing Kirk, Scotty and McCoy that the bullets are unreal in Spectre of the Gun), then it can conceivably be considered a visual representation of the fervour with which Bill was trying to hold on to his faux hirsuite public image. It is possible that Bill's (presumably) platonic embrace of Robert Brown (or stunt man) in this picture is an expression of sheer joy at being able to go ahead with this episode after John Drew Barrymore's late withdrawal and so give him the opportunity to perform in an episode so utterly confusing and disjointed that minimum attention is drawn to his toup. On an alternative note (no pun intended), it could be that in this picture, Bill is giving Leonard Nimoy a clue as to where he has hidden his missing bicycle or even an indication as to where he could park it once he finds it again. Btw, whatever did happen to Leonard's bicycle after Star Trek ended?
